Blanco Building was formed by Glenn and Melanie Blanco.


Together with our design, administration and project management teams, as well as our licensed construction crews, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Blanco Building is small enough to give our clients old-fashioned, personalised customer service. However, we have a team that consists of some of the industry’s top people. We strive to deliver the highest standard of customer service in all that we do.

Our experts can handle drafting, project management, town planning, community engagement, quantity surveying, marketing and interior design.

Meet The Team

Glenn Blanco

Managing Director

Born and raised on a cane farm near Ingham, Glenn is a passionate country kid.


He is an experienced QBCC licensed builder with first-class project management & organisational skills. Glenn has over 20 years’ experience on the tools in the building industry & is personally involved with every Blanco Building project from the design, construction & fit out stages. His organisational and negotiation skills ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.


Glenn has high standards of workmanship & commands the same first-class expectations from his  crew. Being a dedicated small business owner with a young family, Glenn doesn’t have much spare time to relax, but like many North Queenslanders, he enjoys fishing & backing the Cowboys.

Melanie Blanco

Corporate Communications

Melanie is an award-winning journalist and corporate communications/marketing professional with over 20 years’ experience both in Australia & the United Kingdom.


She has worked in management roles in the private and corporate sectors as well as Federal, State and Local Government.


Melanie is a Qualified International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) community engagement practitioner and, more recently, completed a Diploma in Interior Design.


Whether you have a large-scale project where community engagement or marketing / communications is required or you are just looking for some guidance on paint colours or furniture selections, we offer the complete package of a one-stop professional building shop, saving you time & money.

Hendrik Oliever

Operations Manager, Townsville

Professional Experience

Hendrik has a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. He has held varied roles in the construction industry, including: Contracts Administrator, Project Manager, Operations Manager & Site Manager.

Clint Harris

Construction Supervisor

Professional Experience

Clint has overseen a wide range of projects across NSW, ACT and many metropolitan and remote locations in Queensland. He has contributed to the success of a wide range of projects in the sectors of education, retail, fast food, petroleum, warehousing and insurance works. Clients include BP, Puma, McDonalds, KFC and Woolworths. His area of expertise and supervision is in finishing works, thus adding value to the quality outcomes at the completion of projects and providing assurance to our project teams and clients.

Colin McMurtrie

Construction Supervisor

Professional Experience

A qualified carpenter, Colin has over 23 years in the construction industry. He is a hard-working and dependable construction site supervisor with over 22 years’ experience in the industry and has managed many successful projects for multi-million-dollar commercial developments, including all levels of Government and private enterprise. His proven leadership skills have ensured projects are completed within time and budget constraints. He is dedicated to appropriate safety requirements for OSHA and the applicable building codes and has excellent workmanship and quality construction for each task, no matter how small. Colin has a QBCC Site Supervisor licence, Certificate 3 in Carpentry, Certificate 4 in Building and a Master Builders Australia certificate for Residential Building Inspection.
